The Growth Comfort Zone: Redefining What It Means to Step Out of Comfort

So let's first ask yourself what you think a comfort zone is.

Well, until now I believed it was staying in bed, scrolling social media, watching a Netflix movie, etc.

All that gets aligned with entertainment and comfort; that's what social media taught us, isn't it?

But there is another side of the comfort zone, too; I'll call it the 'growth comfort zone'.

So what is the growth comfort zone?

The comfort zone where you are open to new ideas, new opportunities and new discoveries of you.

Didn't get what I was saying?

Let's make it easy for you.

Maria, in her book, mentioned that:

"Getting out of your comfort zone also means being open to new ideas and another unexpected change to your regular routine."

So what does this mean? Being open to new ideas and another unexpected change;

Well, let's be simple: if you are stuck in the same routine and you are feeling tired of the same shit, this one is for you.

Change a piece of your routine, like if your morning routine looks like getting up, washing your face, making a to-do list, starting with a small task, doing breakfast and boom, the day starts.

This might be a good one for some, but for some, it might be very damn tiring.

So here's what you can do: change the routine; shift it.

What can you do?

Add or deduct a small part, or if that's not possible, change the shifts and timing.

If you do work out early in the morning and go for a small walk in the evening, shift them instead.

Go for a walk in the morning, and you will see that it would be far more soothing than an evening walk.

Add a book to your morning routine; read at least two pages a day.

"While routines are good, you should have them to organise your day; you need to allow some diversions; you need to be able to change your path and shake up the routines at times, to open yourself to new opportunities and directions–Maria"

No one is coming to save you; you need to find ways to tackle the thing you fear the most to fight what's taking your energy. And that's what happens when you fight the fear and take a step. A step out of the comfort zone.

"It's easy to blame our unhappiness and complacency on other people, but you know the truth, its setting that limiting patterns-Maria"

Get out of the thing that has been with you since your comfort started shining; change. Go change the way you deal with things.

Talk to people whom you thought you would never talk to; those people might not be good for you but a small Hi, how are things going? It might be a great shift in your attitude.

The responsibility of enjoying and becoming that one person falls on us, not on a second person.

So get up and grind. Don't stop grinding; just grind with a new idea, new things to explore, and a new mood and attitude.

"Getting out of comfort zone doesn't need a lot, we just need a catalyst, and being open to change and seeing things from a different POV-Maria"
